James R. Arnold, Executive Director
Jim has been involved in the community mental retardation field since 1973 when he accepted a position with the Berks County Chapter Retarded for Children. He was a co-founder of Prospectus Associates, Incorporated in 1977, where he held the position of Associate Administrator until he accepted the position of Executive Director for PAI in 1993.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a Liberal Arts Degree in 1969. After serving nearly two years in the U.S. Army, he returned to UW-S, where he attended graduate school until his move to Reading in 1973.
Jim has served in various leadership positions with the Lancaster MH/MR Providers Association, including President in 1997, 1998 and 2003. He is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Lancaster and currently serves as Secretary of the Sertoma Club of Lancaster, the Logistic Coordinator for the American Diabetes Association Walk in Lancaster County, and is a past Board member of the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and is a registered PIAA football official.
He and his wife Katherine reside in the Landisville area.

Laurie A. Kleynen, Director of Residential Services
Laurie began working toward a career in the field of mental retardation while a junior in high school. Introduced to this line of work by her brother; she began working direct care with children in York County through Prospectus Associates, Inc. in 1981. Laurie continued to work for Prospectus all through high school and while attending college full time at York College majoring in Therapeutic Recreation.
Upon earning a bachelor’s degree, Laurie continued working for Prospectus moving into various leadership roles within the organization. In 1990, Prospectus in York County was dissolved and Laurie transferred to Prospectus in Lancaster County. In 1991, Laurie assumed the role of Director of Residential Services for Prospectus overseeing 10 community homes in Lancaster County. In 1993, Laurie continued in her role of Director of the Residential program, but now with the newly incorporated PAI. Highlights of her career with PAI include a department that has more than doubled in size in terms of Community Homes and also the addition of a very successful Shared Living program which has been going strong since 1991.
Laurie is an active member of the Lancaster County Self-Determination Task Force, and has participated in various sub-committees of this group for the past several years. Laurie taught Person Centered Planning for Lancaster County MH/MR program for many years and is now continuing this training “in-house” at PAI. Laurie is a certified Mandt trainer since 1993 and a certified Medication Administration trainer since 1988.
Laurie has been married since 1987 to a City of York police Sergeant. They have two daughters and a house full of pets. In her spare time Laurie enjoys gardening, soccer, board games, is active with her church, and loves the beach.

Conni Jones, Director of Adult Day Services
Conni has been working in the community mental retardation field since 1978. She began as a part-time Resident Assistant with PAI’s parent organization, Prospectus Associates Inc. in York County. Conni moved into full-time direct support work until 1980 when she assumed her first management position in Your County. Conni became Director of Residential Services for Prospectus in York County in 1984 and held that position until 1990. In 1990 Conni accepted the position of Director of Adult Day Services in Lancaster County and has remained in that position since.
Conni graduated from the York College of PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Originally born and raised in the Midwest, she has spent most of her adult life in Pennsylvania.
Conni has played an active part during her career in training staff in a number of topics such as Medication Administration, Incident Management, First Aid, and Person Centered Planning. She also played an active role as a team member of the Lancaster County joint MR/ Aging training team for a number of years. Conni participates in a number of PAI committees as well.
In her leisure time she enjoys reading, traveling to local and regional historic sites, and photography.

Jonathan E. Hollinger, Director of Finance and Administration
Jonathan E. Hollinger came to PAI with an extensive background in both public and commercial accounting. Most recently he was Controller for Greiner Industries where he oversaw all accounting and finance functions, managed information technology systems and participated in strategic planning. A Certified Public Accountant, Jonathan has a BS degree in accounting from Lebanon Valley College. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
Jonathan oversees the organization’s financial management operations, including payroll and benefits administration, insurance, billing, and government compliance.
Among his first priorities were acquisition of new IT hardware and software and completing all of the mountains of paperwork necessary to integrate PAI into a new, state-mandated billing system, review of health insurance coverage, and changes in operations that will allow more efficient and timely financial management. “I have been amazed and encouraged by the staff’s high level of commitment and passion for the individuals we serve here at PAI. My hope is that my financial and management experiences can add value to an already successful organization.”
Jonathan and his wife, Heidi, have three children: Logan, Gabriella and Isaiah. In addition to being a busy dad, he is Treasurer of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding and a young adult Sunday school teacher at Lititz Mennonite Church where he has also been a member of the gift discernment and stewardship committees.
